It was Goldstick park via Gold Bar Ravine where I found the famed porno mag trail named Hustler. Damn that is one fine ass trail they got there. I was instantly engaged when I got on the part with the roller coaster hills. That was fucking awesome. I don't think I mentioned on here lately but bikes rule.
I heard Imperial Oil had fenced off Cambodia but I was not aware it was fenced off so good. They don't want people roaming through there. Why? I understand people are cunts and could sue Imperial Oil for hurting themselves on their property. Do they really own it to the river? Anyways I could only assume that someone sued Imperial Oil for hurting themselves as it isn't a super novice trail and in case.
Fuck those people for this fence. If not. Fuck Imperial Oil. That area is vintage epic Edmonton singletrack.
I clicked my heels together and sniffed my Lonebiker fairy dust (available on the online store) and soon found myself on the other side of the fence and at the start to the Cambodia trail. Well, what was I to do? Turn around? Hello Mcfly!? There is a fence in the way.
So I rode through unscathed and judging by the amount of tire tracks this place is still ridden heavily. I know how safety is in the Oilfield and I know that's on their radar so it should be interesting to see if anything else happens.
I rode up to the building releasing the steam which is creepy as always and remembered going through there at night a few times and it was quite eerie. I wondered if there were workers there and if they would say anything but knowing trades guys they probably wouldn't care. Yet there is always that one guy.
Getting out was tricky cause as I thought it was fenced in all the way to the top to escape to the Science Park. I rode up to see there was no escape and rode down and luckily was able to fit under the gate which might be blocked off soon.
Science Park singletrack was enjoyed and I looped around and then crossed the river and took the Rundle multi use and climbed up to Ada Boulevard (I believe) and rode up top and dropped into Capilano and took Goldigger where the Moots put on a show baby. It felt amazing in the cool Canadian air we are lucky to get.
Hustler was found and it took me back to the park where the same baseball game was going on when I left.
