An Airport Run

Well the smoke seems to have cleared enough for a ride although the online government website still did not recommend activities outside today I decided I would put fate into my hands and go anyways.

You would think that me having an airplane infatuation and living so close to it  that I would have ridden to the airport several times already but this was the first time. The main deterrent has always been the shitty roads to go there and it took the gravel bike to finally muster the courage to ride them.

It was gravel back roads out of town and once near Nisku I had to take the highway with a very narrow shoulder which got insanely tight when I crossed the bridge over Blackmud Creek and I rode with my ass puckered thinking of all the insane numbskulls coming up behind me going over 100 km an hour while staring at their phones.

I know there are people that ride highways that read this and may I just stand and applaud your bravery right now?

*the author  is standing and applauding right now.

I did make it to the airport and it was not nearly as exciting as I thought it would be. Not a lot of action was happening and I toured around and finally left.

I'll be back… Don't worry this opened up a door and I think I liked it despite the dangerous highways and lack of aircraft flying around for my low intelligent psyche to get excited about.

This could sadly be it for rides this week. We are hoping for Wednesday, the smoke really fucked things over here.

The Bike Gods Have Forsaken Me

Honestly not a bad ride...? But it kinda sucked. Absolutely no energy again with the legs having zero climbing energy.  A short write up, so...
