Owned

this beats working (and pretty much everything else)
unicorn socks are in order for mountain riding through slippery rocks (although some Norwegians didn't think so...)
I find "owned" the most appropriate name for a rare day trip to trip to Jasper as the mountains showed me who runs the show and owned me for two rides on a dreary late July day.

Heading into the holiest of holies unprepared physically can sure teach one a lesson. The little riding that I have been doing showed it's signs as I suffered hard through Valley of the 5 lakes, and then a trip up on the bench. A rather typical day trip to Jasper from back in the day.

saturday night lake trailhead
Today Jasper chewed me up and spit me out an empty shell of a mountain biker. It was a definite wake up call to start riding more, the rain can be frustrating but in Edmonton there are ways to work around it.

The rain came today as well but the trails handled it quite well, except for a few hundred slippery rocks and roots that made the already tough riding even harder.

I was beaten hard by the trails today but I'm sitting down typing this with a big smile on my face...
