Rabbit Hill, I hardly knew ye....
With the fantastic media resource known as the "lonebiker", it seems like we missed kind of a big deal in the Edmonton mountain bike scene. As of late January, it appears that Rabbit Hill shut the door on lift access downhill mountain biking in Edmonton.
In short. They just were not getting the revenue they needed to keep the ship afloat. Some may say they had a bad business plan, Some may say they were too far out of the city. In my own professional opinion (and that means something boy`s and girls), I don`t think mountain biking is as popular as we all want it to be, and that`s fine with me.
I see the news has created shockwaves through the local Pinkbike community, well the 10 members who post regularly on the Pinkbike Rabbit hill thread who are taking it hard. Don`t blame them really. For local downhillers that place was a gem. In a way, I blame guys like me (and I know there are lots). The cross country guys who always said they should go check the place out, but never do...
I said I would go this year, would I ? Probably not....
I`m sorry my little Pinkbikers...
Maybe this will cheer you up. Happy Monday
